My Teacher - Intermediate
MDAE EL Civics

Hi! My name is Jennifer Kearns, or some of you might remember me as Jennifer Davis, before I got married this last August! My husband and I had a beautiful wedding at a winery in Sonoma and we just got back from our honeymoon in Italy. "Ciao" (or hello in English) to everyone I haven't seen for so long!

I grew up in Walnut Creek and went to Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek and then I went on to study at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. It's in a beautiful location, on the central coast of California. My third year there I decided to study abroad in Spain for one year. What a great experience! I really understand what it's like to live in a different country where you don't understand the language very well or the customs!!

I have been teaching English as a Second Language for 10 years now. Wow! I feel so old! I taught for 7 years at Visalia Adult Education and have been here at Loma Vista for about 3 years. I love my job and all the students I get to meet each new term. What an incredible thing to come to school and be in class with students from 10-15 different countries. It's a great way to "travel" and experience different cultures and people. I love it!

In my free time I like to exercise, spend time with family and friends and practice my second language, Spanish. (I'm working on my third, Italian! ) Summer is my favorite season and I love to spend time on the boat, waterskiing or sunning!

Right now I teach in a multi-level classroom with my wonderful teaching partner, Marty Campbell. We teach in the mornings at Cambridge Elementry School on Monument Boulevard. This is a CBET class, Community Based English Tutoring, where we teach English to parents and also help them work with their children, so their children can experience success in school. In the afternoons, I teach ESL on our main campus, Loma Vista Adult Education Center. I am currently teaching Intermediate Low 2 in room B6. Come say hi or maybe I'll see you in one of my classes! Bye for now!
