Education, support and resources for parents of strong-willed children ages 5-10 years.  This six-week course takes the successful principles used in Parent Project, Sr. and adapts them to the needs of younger children.  You will learn basic principles that will bring you and your child closer together- not push you apart.  Learn how to encourage self-respect and cooperation.  Parents who complete the course will know how to: identify ideals, rules and tools for the family, respond appropriately to children's choices and structure concrete solutions for challenging situations.

Join us for the workshop series based on the book How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk, by Adele Faber.  Help your child develop a realistic and positive self image, set limits while maintaining good will, resolve conflicts peacefully, and create a harmonious family atmosphere.

Strengthen the family unit and reduce family conflict while addressing problems related to poor school performance, drug/alcohol use, aggressive/sexual acting-out and other self-destructive behaviors. *New students arrive at 6:30, class begins at 7:00pm.

Parents and children attend class together.  Class divides for discussion time and children have age appropriate planned activities, snacks and outside playtime.  Topics include: Temper Tantrums, Potty Training, Limit Setting and more.  Includes lab fee.

Parent attends with child.  Time for fun on a Saturday morning with you and your 2-5 year old.

A collaboration between Hidden Valley Elementary School and Mt. Diablo Adult Education.  Co-op parents meet before class time for class preparation and educational discussion and one 2-hour evening maintenance day.  Parent Education evening classes required, 1/30 and 3/5.  Parents work in the classroom one day each week.  $100 non-refundable registration fee.  TB and fingerprint clearance required.

Child 4 years as of 12/2/11

Our Pre-K program helps prepare children for kindergarten.  Parents work in the classroom one day each week.  Two 3-hour maintenance workdays and monthly Parent Education classes required, 1/17 and 3/6.  $75 non-refundable registration fee.  Enrollment subject to continuation of currently enrolled students.  TB and fingerprint clearance required.

Pre-K - Child 4 years as of 12/02/11

A collaboration between Mt. Diablo Unified School District and Mt. Diablo Adult Education.  (Families must live within the attending school's boundaries.)  Parents work in the classroom one day each week.  TB and fingerprint clearance required. 

When questions about drugs and alcohol arise, information and support is vital.  Class topics include the physiology of drug and alcohol use, laws, consequences and family communication and relationships.  Parents and teens attend together.
