Complaint
Policy
The Mt.
Diablo Unified School District has a uniform complaint process
as required in Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 4622.
MDUSD Policy 1312.1(a). The Associate Superintendent, Educational
Services and the Assistant Superintendent, Elementary Education
are designated as compliance officers. A copy of that policy
is posted in the Adult Education Office. The policy provides
for mediation or investigation, presentation of information
relevant to the complaint, follow up and remedies or appeals
as appropriate. |

Phones
Cell Phones are not to be used in classrooms. |
| Books
Some
books are available for sale for classes adopting standardized
textbooks. Books will not be repurchased. Books for most Community
Education classes are available at most major bookstores. |
Children
Children
are not permitted in classrooms, except for selected Parent
Ed and Family Literacy classes. |

Smoking
Board
Policy and State Law prohibits smoking on any part of
our
campuses, including all parking areas. |
Registration
If space
is available, students may enroll in classes anytime during
the term with instructor permission. Counselor permission
is required in the High School Diploma Department. All Adult
Education classes are open to adults 18 years of age or
older. |
Tuition
and Fees
Tuition
is based on a minimum number of enrollments. Classes may
be
canceled, hours reduced or fees increased if minimum enrollments
are not achieved. For Community Education classes, this
number is based on registrations prior to the class start
date. Pay by cash (exact change please), check, Visa,
Mastercard, Discover,
or American
Express.
Bank
fee
is charged on all returned checks. Tuition and fees are
refundable
if the class cancels. |

Attendance
Your attendance
in many of our classes generates state funding. During the
term a class may be canceled if attendance falls too low.

Refund
Policy
Requests
for refunds must be received no later than two business days
prior to the start of class. A $15 processing fee is deducted
from each class refunded. Full refunds (no processing fee)
will be given to students if MDAE cancels a class at the beginning
of a term. |
Veteran's
Benefits
MDAE is
approved for Veterans' Education Benefits in Career Technical
Education. |
Endorsement
Mt. Diablo
Adult Education does not endorse nor recommend any private
contractors, even those who teach classes in the Community
Education Department. |
Parking
at PHEC
Parking is available days and evenings in the large lot south of the campus and in the back adult education lot. Evening parking is permitted at the front of the school. |
