Parent Faculty Club

On behalf of the Parent Faculty Club (PFC) Executive Board, welcome back to all returning families and a special greeting to the new kindergarten parents and new families to the community. My name is Gina Haynes and I will be your PFC President for the 2012/2013 school year. I have served on the PFC board for four year in the capacity of President, Vice President and Treasurer (two years). As a working mother of two my involvement on the PFC Executive Board has allowed me to stay involved and connected in the Bancroft community.

This year the PFC has adopted a budget that will spend $143,000 on programs and support for ALL students here at Bancroft. A majority of these funds will come from our Dollar-A-Day campaign, three major fundraisers (Walk-A-Thon, Auction and Spell-A-Thon), and other member contributions. An additional $30,000 will come from our savings to close the gap between revenue and expenses. Some funding obligations for the 2012/13 school year include:

  • Fund Classroom Instructional Assistants ($90,000)
  • Fund Technology and Software upgrades ($15,000)
  • Provide extra funding to classrooms & grade-level supplies. ($14,325)
  • Fund an art program for ALL grade levels ($2,500)
  • Provide books for the school library. ($2,000)
  • Other PFC goals for the 2012/13 school year include:

  • Continue to work closely with administration and teachers to support and enhance academic and enrichment programs for all students
  • Seek alternative funding sources for technology and science
  • Explore technology needs and solutions for new technology maintenance
  • Continue to improve communications in the Bancroft Community (Constant Contact, Website, Bancroft Tracks, PFC Liaisons
  • Explore other passive fundraising opportunities similar to eScrip, Fresh & Easy, Target Red Card
  • As you already know-or will soon see, our school is very fortunate to have a talented and professional administration and staff, dedicated parents, a supportive community, and of course, amazing children! With continued cuts in funding for education, our success in providing excellent programs and supports is dependent on the support of our community. We start the 2012/13 school year off with several unfilled chairperson positions for key PFC sponsored events including Auction/Benefit and Fall Festival.     Lastly, I would like to encourage you to attend our PFC Executive Board meetings. The meeting date has changed to the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM in the school library.
