State Championships Allen Finishes Fourth, 1600 Relay Clips Record at CIF Not satisfied merely qualifying for the most competitive State Championships in the country, the Falcons arrived in Norwalk intent on finishing their unprecedented season of success with an exclamation point! Glennda Bivens (02), Linae Young (04), Beth Middleton (02), and Lizz Williams (04) improved their School Record in the 1600 Relay to 3:56.1ce at Friday evening's CIF Trials, while Lindsay Allen finished second in her heat of the 1600m, advancing to Saturday's finals. One of only four non-Seniors in Saturday's final field of nine, Allen persevered through a controversial race that saw the pack crawl through the first 400m in 78 seconds. Jostling continued, and after 800m meters there remained an air of hesitation. This deteriorated into confusion at 850m when Sarah West of Davis tangled with Murrieta Valley's Liza Pasciuto and both fell to the track. Allen narrowly dodged the heap while Jenny Aldridge of Maria Carillo was forced to hurdle over the top! The pace quickened slightly. Then, with 400m to go, Shannon Rowbury and Aldridge separated from the group. Allen was the next to move, and held third briefly before finishing fourth in 4:58.4ce.
