Teams Continue Title Streak
Congratulations to the Falcon Frosh Soph Champions! Once again the youngsters came through in the clutch to thwart their rivals and claim the league meet crown, capping a fantastic 2003 season. Especially impressive were all the individual winners in purple. High jump champ Melanie Cadiz (05), double hurdle ace Tseday Seyoum (05), vault queen Lauren Liscinski (05), 400m star Mary Beth Costa (06) and 1600m / triple jump extraordinar Christina Thung (05) lead the Girls past a surprising Northgate squad to claim the title.
Tremendous first place efforts from Brian Turnbloom (05) in the 400m and 1600m Relay, Brian Brown (05) in vault and hurdles, a giant leap for Nick McInturf (05) in Triple Jump, and a legendary distance triple by Jeff Smith (06) helped elevate the Boys above the competition for a third straight year!
Girl's Repeat Complete, Boys Advance Surprising Relays
While the Varsity Girls completed a perfect league season, pulling away from second place Miramonte to win by 30+ points at Friday's Championship meet, the Boy's relays enjoyed a big finish of their own. After a surprise second place performance in the 400 Relay to start the day, the Falcons wrapped up with an inspired 10 second season best in the 1600 Relay, finishing on the heels of a powerful Concord squad in 3:32.2!
