Allen, Young, Henry Run to NCS Tri-Valley Championships
What a meet! Congratulations to all the Falcons on a spectacular effort at Saturday's Regional Championships. Jeanette Richardson (04), Lizz Williams (04), Melissa King, and Linae Young (04) streaked to a second consecutive 400 Relay title to heat things up early! Young returned later to dominate the field in the 400m.
On the boy's side, Will Dawson (03) and Dimitri Kesselman (03) both launched themselves over 44 feet in Triple Jump to earn MOC berths. Kent Henry (04) surprised the favorites to claim Tri-Valley victory in the 800m and move to sixth All-Time with a breakthrough 1:57 finish!
Of course, the crowds were left in awe by Lindsay Allen's (04) courageous quadruple as she cleared 4-10 in the high jump before crushing her competition in all three distance events; the feat is surely one of the most incredible in the history of College Park athletics.
Also impressive were new personal records set by the 1600m tandem of Beau Cazet (03) and Jared Oubre (04), running 4:32 and 4:34, respectively. In addition to the girl's 400 Relay, the boy's team of Kai Glover (04), Evan Moon (03), Aaron Lee (04), and Brandon Pressley (04) also finished in a season best, breaking the 55 second mark.
The inspirational day was capped by tremendous 1600 Relay PR's. Glover, Justin Espinoza (03), Brian Turnbloom (05), and Henry dropped under 3:32 while Richardson, Young, King, and Williams cranked out the second fastest time in school history!
