San Antonio College Relays STATE'S
ALL-TIME BEST Friday evening's distance carnival proved to be the perfect setting as both Four-Mile Relay squads achieved season best performances for the distance crew! Anchored by a breakthrough 4:32 split from Kent Henry (04), the boys crushed the school record by ten seconds. For the girls, out to prove themselves after a second place finish at Arcadia, redemption was sweet. Finishing ahead of San Pasqual for the win, their total time of 20:33.97 set a new California record, placing them fifth all-time in the United States. And that was just the beginning! In spite of the rain, Saturday's full schedule of high school events provided more fireworks. The 800m relay team of Ashley Cheda (05), Melissa King (04), Angie Barber (07), and Lizz Williams finished third overall in school record time. Cheda also contributed to a new all-time Falcon mark in the Distance Medley Relay with a 59.2 split for 400m. Their winning time of 11:57.72 is the third fastest in the USA this season.
