Williams Sizzles to Second All Time 400m; Strand, Cummings Climb Record Board at Top 8
First she did it in the open, then she did it in the relay. What Lizz Williams (04) did was run under 58 seconds for 400m twice! The open mark moves her to #2 on the All-Time list behind Colleen Fitzgerald's (98) 57.2 effort at the 1997 Meet of Champions. Her relay split along with personal bests from Ashley Cheda (05) and Nicole Wall (07) was good enough for the third fastest Falcon time ever.
Other highlights from Saturday's James Logan Bay Area Top Eight Invitational included a 104-0 improvement for Taylor Strand (07) in Discus, and a fifth All-Time triple jump jack-pot for Lori Cummings (04). An exclamation point was added to the fine day for the Falcons as Lindsay Allen (04), Nicole Pennes (06), Diane Dunn (04), and Kelsey Dallara (07) swept the top four places in the 3200m. Allen's 10:35 finish shattered the meet record by over ten seconds!
