AREA CHAMPIONS!
Bowen, Pennes Earn NCS Area Titles, Lead Girls to Victory
Kim Bowen (07) out-jumped the field for a second week in the 2005 post-season , claiming the NCS Tri-Valley triple jump championship while teammate Nicole Pennes (06) dominated the distance races to help the Varsity Girls to a second straight Area Title. Also scoring big, Taylor Strand (07) finished second in discus and fifth in shot put.
Lianne Lum (07) contributed big points with a third place in the 100m. Ashley Cheda (05) resurrected her 300m hurdle season with a season best 45.8ce from lane eight. Other advancers to the NCS Meet of Champions included Christina Thung (05) in triple jump and 300m hurdler Sara Phillips (07).
Boy's MOC qualifiers included the runner-up 1600m relay team of Scot VanBuskirk (07), Brian Turnbloom (05), Brian Brown (05), and Jeff Rayos (05) as well as long jumper Todd Strand (05) and 3200m specialist Andy Peabody (07).
