SACRAMENTO BOUND!
Strand Flings Way to State

Taylor Strand (07) leapfrogged over her competitors at Saturday's NCS Meet of Champions discus finals to steal the fourth and final qualifying spot for the California State Track & Field Championships. Adding eight feet to her personal best, the upstart sophomore flung the platter 122-8 on her fifth attempt to win the state meet berth.

Nicole Pennes (06) took runner-up honors in both the 1600m and 3200m races to earn a return trip to Sacramento.

SPLASHING AROUND:
Post season preparation is always a complicated mix of high intensity, technical training and relatively longer periods of recuperation. Thus, Tuesday's "active rest" included less rigorous recreation for NCS bound sprinters. Check out the splash of fun HERE!

APRIL PRACTICE SESSION FUN:
The purple tide enjoyed a solid week of training, regrouping for the stretch run and setting sights on post season possibilities. In spite of the serious challenge of repeating as league champions however, the Falcons found time for a few moments of frolic. Check out some choice Practice Pictures HERE!

CAPTURE THE FLAG:
Ninety athletes enjoyed an hour long epic battle of savvy strategy and delirious dashing through Hidden Valley Park on Thursday. The three-way capture the flag competition ended without a winner in 2005 as teams traded offensive assaults in rapid succession. See all the capture the flag pictures HERE!
