Allen Sets Stanford Steeple
Record at NCAA Championships
In
an astonishing turn of events, Lindsay Allen (04)
rebounded from her struggles with asthma to finish the 2007 track
& field sesaon with a string of impressive performances. The
Stanford junior set personal bests in four consecutive races, culminating
in a 10:01 school and PAC-10 record in the 3000m steeplechase trials
at the NCAA Championships in Sacramento's Hornet stadium.

Pennes Honored as 2006
UCLA Frosh Runner of the Year

After
two state championship team titles as a Falcon, Hall of Fame candidate
Nicole Pennes (06) made her collegiate cross country
debut in fine style for UCLA's highly regarded squad.
After
a fifth place finish at the Triton Classic, and appearances at both
the PAC-10 and NCAA Western Regional Championships for the veteran
heavy Bruins, the sensational newcomer was named "Freshman
of the Year" at Saturday's fall sport award ceremonies.

Smith, Dunn Advance to
CCAA Finals, Earn Conference Titles
Phil
Smith (03) landed spots in both the hammer and javelin
finals at the 2006 California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships
on Saturday to help Chico State defend its title.
Also
competing was Diane Dunn (04), a runner up in the
1500m with a time of 4:36. Dunn returned to finish 5th in the 800m!

Five Former Falcons Open
2006 NCAA Outdoor Season in Style
Liz
Noey (04) continued her stunning return to form with a
10:32 effort for 3k at the Stanford Open. The mark converts to an
11:14 for 3200m, nearly 30 seconds faster than her high school best.
Also
opening the outdoor season in fine fashion was Lindsay Allen
(04), pulling off her first collegiate career win in the 1500m with
a 68 second final lap!
Falcon
sprint alumns Scott Lee (01) and Kai Glover
both saw action at UC Irvine, competing for Davis and Santa Barbara
respectively. While Lee handled the lead off spot in the Aggie's
400 Relay, Glover rocketed to a 51 second 400m mark. Meanwhile,
Diane Dunn (04) closed in on the NCAA National
qualifying time for 1500m!

Oubre Rolls with Williams
at East Coast Purple Valley Meet

Three
time North Coast Section Champion and member of the 2001 Falcon
Hall of Fame varsity boys squad, Jared Oubre (04)
competed for the nationally ranked purple Ephs of Williams College
at the Purple Valley Classic.

Allen, Dunn Qualify for NCAA's with Huge Weekend Marks
First,
Lindsay Allen (04) knocked an astounding 14 seconds
off her steeplechase best to finish 5th in the Friday evening Stanford
Invitational "elite race" field and crush the NCAA Western
Regional Championship qualifying standard.
Then,
at Saturday's UCSD Collegiate Open Diane Dunn (04)
shaved another second off her 800m PR to finish second in 2:14.77!
The time is a Division II National Championship provisional qualifying
mark.
