Falcons SWEEP Both Division 2 NCS Crowns...Twinnings!
The morning was chilly, the course wet from the previous days' storm, as the Falcon girls squad prepared for the first race of the day. The mission at hand...claiming the Division 2 NCS championship. College Park's girls' squad held nothing back. Alycia Cridebring (10) clinched third in a season best time of 17:54 for the 3 mile course. She was followed by stellar freshman performances from Kendall Stuscavage (13) and Caitlin Schillings (13) who worked together to blaze through the course in 19:07 and 19:10 respectively. Falcon Marissa Buckley (11) running a solid second for the squad, pulled away midway through the course to close up the gap. Maintaining a top position in the race Buckley was forced to an unexpected stop at the 700m mark. This could have turned the tide for the Falcon girls, as the race was very close. However determination persevered and Buckley re-entered the race, pulling herself back up to a 12th spot in a time of 19:11. The top 5 was rounded off with Marina Ota's (10) sub 20:00 finish in a time of 19:53, a :28 second pr over last year. It was a close race in team scores, only 12 points separated the top 3 teams, and the harriers emerged victorious by 11 points over Casa Grande.

One down, one to go. The boys entered the race ranked first and there was no disputing that ranking. Top gun Jeff Bickert (11) ran a solid race side by side with the leaders Byers of Santa Rosa and Zellman of Ukiah. Finishing in third place overall in a career best time of 15:23, Bickert led the way for more to come. More in the way of 8th, 9th, 12th, and 13th place. The falcons had their five runners in the top 13 with only :53 separating their top 5! Anthony Ortolan (11) placed second for the squad in 16:01, followed by Will Holland (11) in 16:03, Kevin Strongman (10) in 16:12, and Cooper Shanks (11) in 16:16. Another NCS Championship. Twinnings!

Falcons "Reign" After the Storm
The prior days storm may have passed, but the Falcons unleashed a storm of their own on the soggy Lime Ridge course. Conditions were challenging as the athletes had to maneuver their way through the revised course which at times was quite muddy (even claiming a shoe here and there).

Top gun performances by Caitlin Schillings (13), Melissa Garcia (12), Josh Heasell (10), Alycia Cridebring (10), and Jeff Bickert (11).

Falcons Shine at the Castro Valley Invitational
Despite reduced numbers, the Falcons brought their "A" game to the Castro Valley Invitational as rookies stepped up to fill the vacancies left by the "SAT"ers. As the dust settled, the Falcons had four of six squads finish in the top four. The battle began in the frosh soph division as Kendall Stuscavage (13) rolled in just on the heels of Del Oro's top gun and led the girls to a 4th place team finish. The varsity girls led by Marissa Buckley (11) closed with a terrific 2nd place finish. The JV girls squad finished in an impressive 4th place led by veteran Andrea Hite (10), but equally noteworthy was their outstanding sportsmanship.

On the boys side the top three teams in the varsity boys race were separated by the slim margin of a mere 12 points, as the Falcons led by Jeff Bickert (11) took 2nd, edging out Castro Valley by 4 points!
