Established in 1995, Cornerstone Family School is a public parent-participation program on the Ygnacio Valley Elementary campus, open to any K-5 student in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District.

Research shows that parent participation is the single most important influence on a child’s success in school.  As a parent, you have the unique opportunity to see first-hand how your child learns and interacts with other children and adults, as well as how they learn.  Parents have a voice both in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities as part of the program.

 

Children of different ages are grouped together for special activities and events, promoting cooperative learning techniques and positive interaction among the program community.
