I visit the site regularly to check on the workers and see their progress with the building. We are looking forward to occupying the building in August and starting school on September 8, 2004.
Over the summer I am asking the children to read books and be ready to share their favorite story with me when I see them on the first day of school, September 8, 2004. In this issue of the newsletter we have given you a calendar with important dates for August and September.
On June 8 we held our Charter PTA meeting and had thirty-four Delta View adults there to get our organization started. It was wonderful to see everyone! Susan Daynes and Eileen Argento will be our co-Presidents. There will be a Welcome Day on September 3. You can see the building, meet the teachers, and turn in your emergency cards and registration materials. (The August 27 Grand Opening Day has been canceled.)
Depending on parent availability, we would like to have a parent get-together in late August or early September.
Our teachers got together for the day on June 16 and did some planning for the opening of school. They have some great activities designed for your students for September.
If you know of any new families who have moved into the area, please have them call our message phone (925) 682-8000, ext. 4103, and set up an appointment to register with our office manager, Paula Marchiano. It is very important for us to have an accurate list of every child who will be coming to Delta View. We are in our temporary office at Ayers Elementary, 5120 Myrtle Drive, Concord on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings in the month of July if you have questions.
This tentative schedule will be confirmed in August.
We are delighted to introduce our staff to you. Everyone is very excited to be on board, and all of us look forward to getting to know you and your children.
The Charter PTA meeting was held on June 8. Thirty-four Delta View adults were instrumental in getting our PTA organized.
The PTA officers are as follows:
The first PTA meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 9—more information to follow; thereafter, the PTA meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of the month.
