Music
Students are expected to practice at least 20 minutes a day, 4 days a week, because music is a performance oriented class. When you don't work on your part to the best of your ability, you affect the entire ensemble.
Additional materials that must be provided by students are:
Reed, if you play a reed instrument. Please own at least 5 good reeds at all times.
Violin and viola players must have shoulder rests and an extra set of strings.
El Dorado is a no gum campus. NO GUM in M-1. If you are caught with gum one time, your grade will be lowered one full letter grade for the quarter.
"A" Period begins at 7:30 a.m. Please be on time.
Grades are based on daily effort and participation, having all materials, being on time (in seat with instrument when the bell rings), evidence of practice, attendance, concert attendance, and being an asset to the ensemble through hard work and positive interactions with classmates.
