Frequently
Asked Questions for Payroll
My address
is different than the one shown on my warrant, or the name is wrong.
How do I change it?
Contact Personnel
(ext. 4153) to request a change-of-address card, or drop by the
Personnel office at the Dent Center to fill out the change-of-address
card.
The
name on my warrant doesn’t match the name on my Social Security
card. What do I do?
The name on
your Social Security card needs to match your legal name. If you
have married, divorced, or for some other reason changed your
name, you need to contact your local Social Security office to
change your name on your Social Security card. Please inform Personnel
(ext. 4153) of any change to the name on your Social Security
card.
I think
my leave balances aren’t showing up correctly on the warrant.
What do I do?
Contact the
office manager or the person on your site who is responsible for
reporting your leave balances. This person will contact Payroll.
Remember, your absences for the current month will not show up
on the current month’s check, they will show up on the next
month’s check.
I currently
have my warrant (or direct deposit stub) mailed to my home and would
prefer to pick it up at my site. What do I do?
You need to
send a signed note to the Payroll department with your name and
employee ID number (which will be on your warrant) requesting
the change.
My gross/net
pay is different by a couple of cents from what is usually is. What
does that mean?
Rounding differences
may occur. The new payroll system calculates earnings out to five
decimal places (0.00000), whereas the old payroll system calculated
earnings out to three decimal places.
Will
there be a change in when checks are issued or when time sheets
are due?
No. All pay
dates and time sheet deadlines will remain the same.
How
do I read my new paycheck stub?
Samples of
the new paycheck stubs were sent to employees (by pony to their
sites, or by surface mail to their home). You may also select
the appropriate sample to view one online (in
.pdf format):
