Principal's Letter

Dear Hidden Valley Families and Community:

Happy Spring!

Thank you to all who participated in, attended or helped with the Hidden Valley PFC Dinner Auction.  The funds you raised there help our school in so many ways.  Thank you for supporting us in this.

We hope to hear on or about April 14th whether or not we will be given the honor of Distinguished School for the next four years.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Just a few notes on upcoming events:  STAR testing runs from April 26-May 14.  Each grade level will send home its own schedule for those days.  Please do not schedule your child for appointments during those days.  It is especially important that your child arrive at school on time each day during testing.  Students who arrive late will need to wait in the office until testing is done and will have to complete testing during make-up sessions in May.  Please make sure your child is rested and has a breakfast low in sugar and has a balance of protein and complex carbohydrates.  These will help your child go the distance in testing!

Outdoor Education for 5th graders is April 27-30.  All accounts must be paid in full at this time.  Watch for additional information to come home from your child’s teacher.

Finally, there is so much we don’t know yet about our next school year.  So much rests on what happens in Sacramento and in the Governor’s May revision of his budget.  Please make your voice heard regarding education.  Decisions made now will affect your child’s life for a long time to come.
