Fundraising is an important part of supplementing our children's education. Below are descriptions of events for the students and adults as well as ongoing fundraisers. If you would like additional information you can contact the appropriate coordinator.

S.H.A.R.E.S is a new program where you have another opportunity to earn FREE money for Highlands. It costs you nothing and it costs our school nothing!

  • Just use the S.H.A.R.E.S. Card when you shop at Lucky, FoodMaxx, or Save Mart Supermarkets.
  • Each time you shop at Lucky, FoodMaxx, or Save Mart Supermarkets, using the S.H.A.R.E.S. card, 3% of the dollar value added for your grocery purchase is automatically credited to your school in your child's name.

The Fall Carnival is a major event that raises money to supplement our student education.

Carnival events include Fast Pitch, Dance Dance Revolution, Animal Walk, Tatoo Booth, Cake Walk, Wet Sponge Toss w/ Teachers, Pumpkin Walk, Hole in One, Buried Treasure, Race to the Finish, and more.

Highlands will be holding its 9th Annual Auction at the Centre Concord.

Ahoy Matey! This year will be full of surprises! We will be serving dinner from a new and delicious menu. We will also be introducing our new Auction Website. Box Tops and Labels
for Education

For each General Mills BOX TOP$ 4 EDUCATION we send in, our school will get 10 cents! Our goal this year is to collect 20,000 Box Tops. This means $2,000 for our school. Help us to reach this goal. All you have to do is SAVE your box tops and turn them in to the office throughout the school year. Even bring a container to work so your co-workers can help out. It's easy! Remember to look for the label below, cut it out, and turn it in.

PEP is the Parent Educator Program at Highlands . This very important program utilizes trained parent volunteers to present lessons on drug prevention and refusal skills to our 3rd and 4th grade students. PEP has been taught at Highlands for the past 19 years. Our parent volunteers receive 21 hours of training (paid for by PTA) and after training the program requires a commitment of one hour per week for eleven weeks. This instruction is done in teams of two per classroom.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon week is a nationally recognized drug, alcohol and tobacco prevention awareness campaign. The aim of this week is to encourage our children to make drug-free, healthy lifestyle choices. It started in commemoration of DEA Special Agent Enrique ‘Kiki’ Camarena who was killed by drug traffickers in 1985. It was formally established by Congress in 1988 and runs, every year, during the last full week in October.

If you can help decorate the school campus and assist during various lunchtime activities please contact one of the coordinators.
