Scott Ananos: Mr. Ananos came to Mt. Diablo as a substitute in January of 1999 and worked several long-term jobs that resulting in being hired permanently. Scott is a product of the schools within the Mt. Diablo Unified School District and a graduate of Diablo Valley College. Mr. Ananos received his B.A. in History from UC Davis, and recently finished graduate work at St. Mary’s College. Scott’s uncommon and very knowledgeable teacher approach to his students brings opportunities to provide wise counsel and support for future choices to our academy members. His most loving achievement was being named “Favorite Teacher” at MDHS by C-Beyond in the 2002 school year. Outside of school he enjoys the underground music scene, dancing in warehouses and attending unique social events. Scott is also one of Mounts leadership teachers, Senior Class sponsor, and advisor to the Mt. Diablo GSA Club. |

Ean Ainsworth Mr. Ainsworth is a graduate of Cal State, Hayward with a B.A. in History, and a Master’s in Teaching from Chapman University. He has taught five years at Glenbrook Middle School, one of Mt. Diablo’s feeder schools, and we are delighted to have him join our IHTA and Mt. Diablo staff. In addition, Ean is a coach with the Diablo Valley Soccer Club, working with girls, ages 10-16. He states, “I am a teacher because I love the challenge and responsibility of preparing students for life after their teenage years.” His goal is to have our students leave class prepared to be successful participants in society, strongly supporting our academy goal. Mr. Ainsworth is married and has been with the Academy for two years. |

Evan deGennaro Evan is an alumnus of MDHS—class of 1995. He graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from Seattle University. He earned his teaching credential from University of San Francisco and will complete the Masters program for ESL in 2007. Evan is proud to teach I the IHTA and feels blessed to be around so many amazing people. One of his hero’s is Dr. Joseph Marshall (USF graduate, Founder of Omega Boys Club and Street Soldiers Radio): “The more you know, the more you owe” Following the premise of this quote, Evan states: “ I learn a tremendous amount from the students and hope to make all learning experiences authentic and with an ultimate goal of giving back to the community.” Hobbies-passions include hip-hop and good music. I often use the music to enhance the classroom learning experience |

Kevin Fuller: As a Mt. Diablo and ROP/HERO teacher Chef Kevin team teaches Art and the Palate and leads instruction for Serendipity’s ROP Restaurant Careers Class. Mr. Fuller is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy, received his A.A. from Santa Rosa Junior College and a B.A. from Sacramento State. He has participated in International Culinary Training in France. He joined the staff at Mt. Diablo with more than 15 years of fine dining experience predominately in haute cuisine. He has been a presenter for workshops at California Partnership Academy and Hospitality Educator Conferences. Because of his deep commitment and understanding of our industry coupled with his enthusiasm for the science, history, and math embedded in the culture of food, students are provided with a broad scope of opportunities that open many doors for the future. Kevin is the father of two daughters and one son. |

Debbie Allen: Serendipity and IHTA Coordinator As a Mt. Diablo Alumni and Serendipity graduate, Debbie brings many special talents to the Academy students. She has an A.A. Degree from Diablo Valley College and has completed her B.A. Degree at CSU Hayward. Debbie has attended professional development workshops at CIA, Greystone, The California Culinary Academy, and Johnson & Wales University. She has participated in the International Culinary Training with Ms. Moon and Chef Kevin in Bouge, France. Ms. Allen is the financial manager for Serendipity, our computer technician, and a strong support for FHA-HERO, assisting with more than 100 extra/inter curricular interdisciplinary projects/activities that take place in the Serendipity Program throughout the year. Debbie is married, has two children and holds a Vocational Teaching Credential. |
