Ben
Campopiano was born and raised in Walnut Creek, California.
He attended Walnut Acres Elementary and Foothill Middle School,
and graduated from Northgate High School in 1998. After high
school he attended Cal Poly University (San Luis Obispo) and
Diablo Valley College before graduating from Saint Mary's
College of California in 2003 with a B.A. in Communications.
After college, Campopiano moved to Washington, D.C to work
in the political industry. From 2004 to 2006 he worked in
D.C., Boston, and San Francisco on the Presidential and Congressional
elections. During his time working on political campaigns
he organized community volunteers, registered citizens to
vote, did small-donor fundraising, worked on improving voter
turnout, and managed grassroots campaign operations.
In 2007 Campopiano moved back to the East Bay and began working
on his Teaching Credential in Social Science at Chapman University.
He also worked for the Mt. Diablo Unified School District
as a susbstitute teacher and summer school teacher. In the
fall of 2007 Campopiano was hired by the Pittsburg Unified
School District to teach in the Social Science Department
at Pittsburg High School.
Besides teaching, Campopiano coaches baseball at Northgate
and runs the Bronco Baseball Academy with his brother Jon
Campopiano. He has been coaching high school athletics and
directing summer camps for over five years. Campopiano also
designed, created, and maintains the Northgate athletics website,
www.NorthgateBroncos.org. In his spare time Campopiano enjoys
playing golf, excercising, reading, volunteering, and spending
time with his friends and family.
