Kindergarten Registration - New Parent Meetings

Registration for 2012-2013 PHE Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten will be held on Tuesday, February 7th. There will be two sessions: 9:00 am - 11:00 am and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.  Information packets will available in the office the week of January 30th and will include a list of everything you will need to bring when you register your kindergartener.

 New Parent Orientations are January 27th, February 24th, and March 2nd - all at 8 a.m. . Please contact the school office 925.934.3341 for further information  or click here for additional information

Science Night Tomorrow

The ever popular PHE Movie The PHE Annual Science Fair is tomorrow evening at PHE. Pizza is available from 5:00 - 6:30 pm and the projects will be on display from 6:00 -8:0 pm.

Stop first in the multi-use room where we will have a great lineup of local scientists including engineers, entomologists, natural scientists, ecologists, chemists, water scientists, medical professionals, astronomers, fungal biologists, and marine biologists!

Science Night is a free family event. You don't have to have a project to enjoy all the wonderful scientific work of our students.  Come support our budding scientists!

A reminder that school will not be in session on Monday, January 30th for a Teacher Work Day

 Put your donation thinking caps on! Personal connections are the best way to add valuable donations to our event. Think about whom you know and what natural connections you have, you'll be amazed at what you come up with! Also consider hotels or vacation spots you've stayed at and give them a call to ask for a donation. Businesses are more likely to donate when you've spent money there.

Here are some other ideas to consider:

Tickets to the see the Giants / A's / 49ers / Raiders /Sharks, etc.

• Concert tickets
• Wine
• Miles for travel
• Personal Services
• Restaurants, hotels, destination getaways including cabins/condos, etc.

Spell-A-Thon Packets Went Home

Check your student's backpacks for this year's Spell-A-Thon word list and pledge sheets. The word lists are by grade level and ALL PHE students will be taking the Spell-A-Thon test on Friday, February 10th.

Sponsored by the Pleasant Hill Elementary Education Foundation, this long-standing annual event challenges kids academically while earning money to fund teaching staff for Language Arts and Math, the computer instructional assistant, the computer lab, PE instructional assistants, and M.A.R.E. (Oceans Week). 

Your donations are 100% tax deductible and keep in mind that many companies will match your gift dollar-for-dollar. All pledge sheets are due in the day of the test and will be returned with the graded papers.  Donations are due by Friday, March 2, 2012.
