Grad Night

Dear Ygnacio Valley Grad Parent:

We are pleased to announce the Grad Night Celebration for the 2011 graduating class at Ygnacio Valley High School. Because of a recent concert
schedule change at the Concord Pavilion, our graduation ceremony and Grad Night event have been moved to Friday, June 10, 2011. The graduation ceremony
will now begin at 7 PM, and Grad Night will begin as soon as the ceremony is finished. Grad Night is a spectacular supervised alcohol- and drug-free all
night event planned and paid for by parents with support from the YVHS PTSA (Parent-Teacher-Student Association) and community donors. Grad Night is a
once-in-a-lifetime event designed to encourage our entire senior class to participate with their friends... avoiding other less-safe forms of celebration
on Graduation night. Our seniors will never have another opportunity to experience something like Grad Night ever again!
Each year, Ygnacio Valley parents work directly with parents from Clayton Valley, College Park, Concord and Northgate High Schools in sharing the
Centre Concord facility and resources to create this wonderful event. Using common theme/decorations, professional entertainment and activities for
Grad Night allow us to save time and money in planning and execution. The evening’s activities will feature spectacular themed decorations, a casino,
outdoor games, bowling, DJ and dancing, karaoke, hypnotist, movies, prizes, food and more. Each school is assigned a night to hold their own private Grad
Night celebration. Ygnacio Valley’s Grad Night is scheduled for Friday, June 10th from 9:30 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.
Parent participation in the planning and execution of this event is critical to its success. Your contribution of time, money, resources, and merchandise,
large or small, is needed. Please review the materials listed on this page and consider getting involved. We have monthly planning meetings for the subcommit
tees in the YVHS school library and have fundraising events throughout the year to realize this special event. We only have three meetings left!
Please come—we need your input and suggestions. This is a well-planned event and most tasks are easy and already in place. We know from past experience
that even if your student implies they don’t want you to be involved, don’t believe him or her! Your student will be glad that you are a part of their
special evening—they will have so much fun, and so will you! Grad Night is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience— one you and your student don’t want
to miss.
If you have questions regarding Grad Night, please feel free to contact us at any time. We look forward to working with you in planning a memorable
evening for our seniors. Parent volunteers are needed!
